Burnout reduces your productivity and drains your energy, leaving you feeling increasingly helpless and hopeless, cynical, and even resentful. It can even affect you physically, reducing your resistance to flus and viruses.
Burnout occurs after a period of time of experiencing the stress of feeling constantly under a barrage of worry about your responsibilities. At some point you feel exhausted, and you give up the fight. It is a gradual process that occurs over an extended period of time.
