Shahrzad Irannejad is a licensed psychologist and a member of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec (OPQ). She has worked with children, pre-teens, and their families as well as with adults during and after her graduate training.
Shahrzad has completed part of her training at the Dept. of Child Psychiatry at JGH working with children presenting with different emotional and behavioural difficulties and their families. She has also worked with university students dealing with anxiety, ADHD and other types of learning disabilities. As part of her training, Shahrzad has also completed CBT workshops with focus on depression, anxiety, and OCD in children, adolescents, and adults. She has led CBT-based groups for children and adults focusing on anger management problems, low self-esteem, and test anxiety.
Prior to her private practice, Shahrzad was involved in the ADHD research that investigated different types of treatment at the Dept. of Psychiatry at MCH, working with adults as well as parents of preteens who were diagnosed with ADHD.
In her private practice, Shahrzad offers psycho-educational assessments for all age ranges (childhood through adulthood) for ADHD, dyslexia and other types of learning disabilities. Additionally, she provides individual therapy for children (7-14) as well as adults (18+) dealing with problems such as depression, anxiety, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, ADHD, and/or other types of learning disabilities. Shahrzad also works with families dealing with stress (e.g., stress due to dealing with a child diagnosed with ADHD or other types of LD), or those simply striving to improve their interaction and communication. She also provides behaviour consultation for parents struggling with child behaviour management.
Shahrzad is also affiliated with the Montreal Center for Anxiety and Depression on a part-time basis.
