Victor Leiserson is a highly-experienced licensed clinical psychologist who uses specialized CBT and Mindfulness-based techniques to treat Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Depression, Relationship issues, Personality disorders, Addictive behaviors, and Stress management. He is perfectly trilingual (English, Spanish, French) and highly-experienced working with adults and adolescents from diverse cultural contexts.
For over 12 years, I have had the privilege of teaching my patients specialized CBT techniques to help them overcome depression, anxiety and worry, severe OCD, stress, anger, panic, fears, and other significant difficulties. I have also had the privilege of teaching state-of-the-art Mindfulness-based techniques (which I myself have been practicing regularly for over 8 years) whenever this was deemed appropriate. These techniques offer an amazingly powerful, and often shockingly simple, supplement or alternative to CBT techniques; a fact attested to by thousands who use them both to handle life’s challenges and to continuously enrich their experience of life.
My techniques are therefore empirically-validated, CBT and Mindfulness-based. Yet what may be a therapist’s greatest contribution is his capacity to connect with his patient, to make them feel understood. The experience of feeling profoundly understood, aside from feeling tremendously relieving and satisfying, can itself be powerfully healing.
In my work with hundreds of patients, I continue to observe that the more we feel understood and accepted, the easier it becomes to resolve most problems.
